Finger Sprain:
The hand is one of the most commonly injured sites (especially in sports), yet it is probably the most poorly managed of all body area. Immediate evaluation must be afforded to avoid any delay in proper management. When it comes to improper care the hand is notoriously unforgiving.
A sprain is the result of violent stress on a ligament, such that finger joints are knocked out of location.
Mild and moderate sprains involve stretching or tearing one or more of your finger ligaments. A severe sprain means one or more ligaments have been stretched or completely torn. Surgery can be required for severe sprains.
Symptoms of a sprained finger include:
- pain and tenderness
- pain when flexing the finger
